Who Is Ring & Respect?
We are a company based in Montego Bay, Jamaica that employees remote call center workers and other BPO staff worldwide. The majority of our staff are in Jamaica so let’s focus first on that staff. These are experienced call center workers who post Covid were in a call center with hundreds of other people and now prefer to work from home. Jamaica is the number one BPO location in the English Speaking Caribbean, supporting several US multinational providers for over 30 years. The BPO market is a mature one in Jamaica so there are generations of call center workers on the island.
Who we are
The average call center worker is a single mother aged between 20-30 years old. They are motivated to work hard for two reasons, primarily is to create a better life for their pinkney’s (slang for children). Secondly Jamaicans have a great sense of family which translates to their employer, they truly want to do a good job so the company will grow and prosper. These single mothers used to have to take 2-3 rides (taxis) to get to work each day and leave hours before work to get pinkney’s to school and daycare and to work.
Now staff have no commute and the pickney are doing school remotely. This has helped the single mother to have a better life and spend more time with their pinkney’s. It has reduced that transportation expense. In addition the reduction in brick and mortar costs has allowed the employers to pay a top wage creating a win/win for the remote workers.
Where we come from
R&R’s CEO Phillip W. Duff has been involved in the debt collection industry for the last 30 years providing a solid background in one the hardest sectors for call tenets debt collection. Mr. Duff also has been living in Montego Bay full time for the last 4 years. In this time Mr. Duff has learned many ways to motivate and understand the culture and therefore the staff. “The people are what make Jamaica, Jamaica. The call center staff are easier to train than US staff and can easily perform at the same or higher levels as their US counterparts for one third the price. Work From Home agents allows me to pay higher wages and yet reduce the costs to my clients by 40%.” said Mr. Duff In a recent interview with The Gleaner, a well known island newspaper.
Unique Model
R&R has embraced the family instinct of the staff and has a Network Marketing strategy for staffing. We allow staff that meet certain qualifications to help us hire others and that staff member gets a percentage of thats persons income generation as long as the work of both parties meet certain quality levels. Each employee can have up to 12 people in their downline. This creates smaller groups (families) within the big family (R&R). We believe it takes a community to raise a new staff member so we use that strategy. This strategy has more benefits than I could state in a short article.
So we are a family of workers that take pride in the quality of the work we perform for our clients who are also our family members. Everyone focused on just one thing doing the highest quality work possible
